We hope you had a fabulous time at BeMyApp weekend! It sounds like you all created some pretty incredible apps in a shockingly short time.
Now that you have a moment to breathe, we hope you can take a minute to play around with the CloudBees Platform as a Service (PaaS). We think you’ll be amazed at how fast and easy it is to build and deploy your mobile apps – and regular Java apps – in the cloud. We also invite you to get your own free e-Book to learn more about PaaS.
BlackBerry is an open platform that provides a variety of development languages and runtimes designed to fit your skills.Your choice will be based on a combination of familiarity, possibly having a pre-existing codebase as well as the target devices you wish to serve:
· Choose C/C++ Native SDK if you have a game or app with an existing C/C++ codebase and you wish to bring it to PlayBook and the BB10 platform.
· Port existing Android apps and games to PlayBook and BB10 and expand your market. Simply re-package and distribute through App World.
· If you have an existing game or app written in AIR that you are looking to bring to the PlayBook and future BB10 platform this is the choice for you.
First and foremost, THANK YOU for being part of the first Mobile App Olympics! Thank you for your courage to grab the mic, for your support and great energy, and most of all thank you for believing in our idea. We’ve been working hard to make BeMyApp WeekEnd a global event and are thrilled to see it succeed.
we want to thank you all for voting for us and for spreading the word! Thanks again to the Jury in Berlin for their good choice and believing in us.
We are happy, the competition is over, so we can get back to business, and congratulate Kinvolved on taking home the title!
Maybe most importantly, we want to invite you all to become Test Users for our app. If you sign up at www.unlockyourbrainapp.com, this should be easiest. Further, if you want to contact us directly with ideas, enquiries, if you are searching for a job as a game designer, Developer or Business person, just do so at email@example.com. Feel free to share this, too…
Again, thank you all and all the best, Simon for the UnlockYourBrain Team
“To win a country-wide app development contest is a dream come true for every developer, so to win a worldwide competition would surely be almost too much to handle; well, if Matt Glover gets enough votes then this may be a very fun problem for him to solve”
I’d like to wish all projects the best of luck … there’s some really great ideas out there.
Star Jar is a multi-device mobile app to record and reward child behaviour and
success. Fun and engaging usage for years of Star collecting, and a very novel way of syncing between iPhones, iPods and iPads.
Star Jar was Developed by a 1-Man Team, Matt Glover (Duchy Software) at the London BeMyApp Hackathon
The first Kinvolved product is an Android & iPhone/iPad app program that will log, track and provide data analysis on student and class attendance.
Teachers will enter attendance records at the beginning of each class period. Dependent upon student attendance, tardiness or absence, an SMS, email and/or automated voice message will immediately be sent to parents and family members reporting tardiness or absence. Teachers will benefit from this app as it will promote time efficiency and organization.
Teachers will be able to log attendance records of 25 students in one minute.
Attendance can also be tracked on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to track trends. This app will create graphs displaying attendance analytics in easy-to-understand visual formats.
All student and family contact information will be at the teacher’s finger tips for convenience if personal communication must be made in emergency circumstances.
Just as teachers will benefit from using this product, families will now have immediate knowledge of their child’s whereabouts when attendance is logged as tardy or absent.
